    • Dr Devendra Mahatme – Male, Partner

      Dr Mahatme qualified in Leeds and completed his GP training in Norfolk and become a partner at Watton Surgery in April 1990.He is grateful to his wife Kate for her enduring support given to him both in his professional career and personal life in bringing up their two sons and creating a firm family unit here in Norfolk. He appreciates the major significance which partners and family play in our health and wellbeing and thus endeavours to incorporate this in his medical practice. He strongly believes in patient centred medicine and mutual decision making with his patients. In his spare time he plays sports and is an avid follower of Norwich City Football Club. More recently he has taken up road cycling.
    • Dr Tissa Weeratunge – Male, Partner
      MBChB (2010) Sheffield
      Originally from London, Dr Weeratunge graduated from Sheffield Medical School in 2010, and went on to complete his Foundation and GP training in South Yorkshire. He continued to work as a GP in the area before relocating to Norfolk in March 2020 to be nearer to family. He initially joined Watton Medical Practice as a locum, but after enjoying his time with us, he accepted the opportunity to take up a more permanent role as a full-time GP partner. Dr Weeratunge practices individualised patient centred medicine and his areas of interest include Men’s Health, MSK Medicine and Diabetes. Outside of work Dr Weeratunge enjoys watching and playing most sports, as well as spending time at home with his young family and array of pets!

Dr Victoria M Amies – Female, Salaried GP

Dr Amies qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1992, and after moving to Norfolk to complete her GP training joined Watton Medical Practice in 2000. Her varied interests outside of medicine include running, longbow archery, and playing the bassoon with Wymondham Symphony Orchestra.

Dr Sarah Rose – Female, Salaried GP
MBChB 2018 (University of Keele)
Dr Rose qualified from Keele Medical School in Staffordshire in 2013. She then continued with her Junior Doctor and GP training in the West Midlands. She qualified as a GP in 2017 and continued to work at a practice in Birmingham where she qualified. She later moved to Norfolk at the end of 2018 to live with her partner and got married in August 2019. She started working at Watton Medical Practice in April 2019 and has enjoyed working with a unique and diverse team.
